perennial ground cover - candy tuff, ice plant philox, blue fescue, etc
I have a very steep slope (mostly sunny) that is 5' x 55' but in one area 15' x 11.' I'm looking for ground cover that does not require a lot of work to take care of. The slope is dry, although I can water, and grass will not grow on it. I do like your blue fescue and hope to use it at the top of the wider slope (15' x 11') and maybe along the middle of the rest of the area (5'x55'). Any suggestions?

Hi Frank,
You forgot one important detail, what zone you are in. I'm going to respond with things that will do well in zone 5 or 6 with those conditions. Some may be a couple feet tall in bloom, but no larger, and I will include them in case you want a few items that are not too short. Things to look for in descriptions to know they might work are western native, silvery foliage, alpine garden plant, needs well drained soil, and of course drought resistant.
Ornamental Agastaches
Antennaria dioica ‘Rubra‘
Armeria maritima
Aster tongolensis ‘Wartburg Star’
Balsamorhiza sagittata
Callirhoe involucrata
Catananche caerulea
Cerastium tomentosum
Coreopsis
Dianthus
Eryngium alpinum ‘Superbum’
Gaillardia
Lychnis alpina (Arctic Campion)
Lychnis chalcedonica ‘Burning Love’
Mirabilis multiflora
Papaver nudicaule Mix (Iceland Poppy)
Penstemon strictus
Sedums
Sisyrinchium bellum (Blue Eyed Grass)
Stachys monieri
Hope that helps,
Remy
Veronica incana
Lychnis flos-cuculi

just about everything!
Hi
Paypal is beyond a pain in the butt!! I am a Canadian with a Canadian Master Card (of course) but I am in ARIZONA and want my seeds shipped here. But there's no way I can do that with paypal they want my billing address! Now I'm going to have to send you a letter with what I want. I really like your selections though I noticed that a few items you listed as zone 4 or 5 do really well in my zone 3 garden!
Cheers for now

Hi Lee,
I know PayPal can be a pain sometimes. You can order with PayPal and send me a message about where you want it shipped though. That is not a problem.
Let me know about some of the times growing in you Z3 garden. I can use that info to let people know they may be successful. Thanks!

Friend Peggy Wilson, your customer

What kind of seeds are you interested in?(perennials, tomatoes, etc.)

beans
I have been searching for a bean that my great-aunt used to cook--we just called them "gray butterbeans", but I've never known the real name. They were totally gray when cooked (never saw them on the vine) and about 3/4" long. I know that she raised her own vegetables, so it's probably an older variety--that would have been pre-1970's. No one I've spoken to has ever heard of it. Can you help? My friend, Peggy Wilson, highly recommends you! Thanks....
Replied on: 10:52pm 01-23-2014

Hi Pamela, I wish I knew which variety. Butterbeans are small limas, often colorful, and when cooked can turn gray. I do not know a variety by that name though. It may not of really been the name even. If you knew what they looked like before they were cooked, it would help a lot as there are quite a few varieties out there.
I do sell a few, you could always experiment and find one that reminds you of the flavor.

Your site is great and also your selection and prices...very glad to see that you accept Canadian orders. The only small suggestion I have for the site is to add a 'view cart' link at the top of the page for easy and quick access. I am sure their are others like myself who have a hard time keeping track of what's already in their cart.

What kind of seeds are you interested in?(perennials, tomatoes, etc.)

perrenials, herbs and vegies...you have a great tomatoe selection with good descriptions.

Anything you would like to see on our site?(specific variety, more of something in general)

More varieties of poppies, lavendar and herbs
I have a large order to send shortly...I love your cite which I found through Dave's Gardening.

I'm glad you like the site!
You are the second person in a couple days to say there are no 'View Cart' Buttons when they are on the the pages. Maybe I need to change the color?

Tomato
Your seed prices have to be the lowest in the industry. Hope you can stay in business selling at such a low price. Ever think about raising your prices a little ? Can't imagine folks would mind paying $2.00 for 15 seeds.
Just a thought. Consider a price increase for the 2014 season perhaps ? Your web site is very good, and I especially like the info about GMO seeds. Hope to become a future customer.

Best regards,
Dan Bregar

Hi Dan,
So glad you like the site. I'm glad you like the prices too. The prices have went up some. Tomato seeds were $1 when I started in 2009. The packets are very plain so you are getting no frills, good seed.

I am thinking about it!
I received my first order of seeds last week! Can't wait to get "sprouted." I am in zone 9a/b....It is almost strawberry picking time down here! First berries should be out soon. Long time strawberry growers here in Plant City are now having to compete with the Mexican crop. They have managed to time harvest about the same time! Buy from your local growers....Look for the label..grown in the USA....Buy fresh from Florida. Now back to completing my next order. Do you have a pierogi recipe published somewhere on the net? Thanks Remy! Joann

Hi Joann, Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I'm behind with Thanksgiving. I will have to dig out te pierogi recipe for you as I do not have that one published.
